Police are looking for a young man who held up a TD Bank branch on Maywood Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

There were no injuries. The bandit escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, said borough police Detective Sgt. Mark Gillies.

The robbery occurred around 4:24 p.m. at the bank branch at the corner of Maywood Avenue and East Pleasant Avenue. The man walked into the bank and handed a teller a note requesting money from a drawer, Gillies said. There were other customers in the bank, but apparently they were unaware of the holdup until after the man was gone.

After getting the money, the man left the bank and was last seen heading east on East Pleasant Avenue, Gillies said.

The man was described as an unshaven white male, between 20 and 30 years old, around 5-foot-7 and with a stocky build. He was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, with the hood concealing most of his face, and sneakers. He also wore a white baseball cap underneath the hooded sweat shirt, police said.
