Assemblyman Tim Eustace of Maywood wins re-election
The Record

Assemblyman Tim Eustace, D-Maywood, has won re-election to a second term according to the final results Thursday from a recount of a tight race in Legislative District 38.

The results in Hawthorne, the last remaining town in the district to be recounted, showed the closest Republican challenger Joseph Scarpa picking up one additional vote, said Keith Furlong, a spokesman for the Passaic County Board of Elections.

That left Scarpa, the mayor of Rochelle Park, trailing Eustace by a total of 35 votes based on recount results from earlier this week in the district’s 12 Bergen County towns.
